Obituary

William Samuel Wells of Davison, age 91, died Monday June 18, 2018 at the Pines of Burton. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Sunday June 24, 2018 at Hansen Funeral Home Groves Chapel, Downtown Davison. Rev. Tom Harvey officiating, burial will follow in Crestwood Cemetery. Family will receive visitors from 5 – 8 pm Saturday at the funeral home.

William was born in Paragould Arkansas on February 10, 1927 the son of the late: Charles & Stella (Acker) Wells and has resided in the Davison area since 1956. He met his wife Anneliese Loll while serving in the US Army, they were joined in marriage on August 25 1948 in Germany, and they sailed back to the United States after his deployment. Answering the call of his country William served in the US Army during WWII as a Sergeant in the Military Police stationed in Germany.  Bill was a member of Davison VFW Post 4087, and after his retirement he started Bill's Country Boys a music group that played through the area at numerous Senior Centers and music venue's. He had been employed by General Motors Chevrolet Division retiring in 1985.

Surviving are children: Robert Wells, John W. & Theresa Genesee, Mary & David Cronkright, John & Germaine Wells, Rose Crago, Samuel & Tami Wells, and son-in-law Larry Gammon. He also leaves; Seventeen grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren, brother Arnie & Jimmie Wells, and a host of extended family. He is preceded in death by his wife Anneliese in 2007, his daughter Beverly Gammon and granddaughter Ashley. Please share your condolences at www.hansenfuneralhome.net
