William Lee Turnbull of Burton formerly of Davison, age 88, died Thursday Sept. 3, 2020 at his residence. Honoring his wishes cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 pm Sunday September 20, 2020 at the Lapeer Eagles 3565 Davison Rd. Lapeer. Inurnment will be in Great Lakes National Cemetery. Those desiring may make contributions in William's memory to the Alzheimer's Foundation.
William was born in Mt. Morris Michigan on December 1, 1931 the son of the late John & Ethel (Kitchen) Turnbull and had resided in the Davison area most of his life. He was joined in marriage to Therrel Gibson on July 2, 1960 in Ypsilanti Michigan. Answering the call of his country William proudly served in the US Army during the Korean War. He loved the outdoors and was an avid fisherman, but his true love and enjoyment was his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He had been employed as Auto Carrier Driver for the auto industry until his retirement.
He leaves his wife of sixty years Therrel, his daughters Chiquetta (Thomas) Pack and Glenda Marie Allen. He also leaves grandchildren; Daniel Lee Hutchinson, Harmony Lynn (Nathan) Vargo, and great grandchildren: Tyler, Sydney, Madison, Mason, and Dani. He is preceded in death by his eight siblings.
