William Herman Corkins, of Davison age 84 passed away Friday September 2, 2011 at Genesys Regional Medical Center. A funeral service will be Tuesday September 6, 2011 at 11:00am at Hansen Funeral Home Groves Chapel Downtown Davison. Fr. George L. Cleaves Jr. officiating. Burial will take place at Flint Memorial Park. Family will receive visitors at the funeral home from 5-8pm Sunday and 1-4 and 6-8pm Monday. William was born in Deckerville, Michigan on May 10, 1927 the son of the late William and Myrtle (Burgett) Corkins and resided in the Flint and Davison area most of his life. He was joined in marriage to Barbara Ann Townsend September 8, 1956. Answering the call of his country he served in the US Army during WW II. William served his community as a volunteer firefighter for the Burton Fire Department for over 10 years. He leave to cherish his memory his loving wife: Barbara; children: Mark and wife Sue Corkins, Margo Aasland, and Heather and husband Scott Mowl; grandchildren Adam and wife Jamie McMillan, Jenni and husband Michael Sheets, Megan and husband Patrick Murphy, Katie, Nicholas, and Jonathan; 1 great grandchild Breonna ; brother: George and wife Violet , sister: Dorothy and several nieces and nephews.
