William George Cook of Clio age 78 died Saturday January 28, 2012 at Genesys Regional Medical Center. Honoring his wishes cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at 12:00 noon Friday March 9, 2012 at the Hansen Funeral Home Groves Chapel, Downtown Davison with inurnment to follow at Great Lakes National Cemetery. Those desiring may make contributions in Bill's memory to the American Cancer Society. Bill was born in Flint Michigan September 1, 1933 the son of George & Jennie (Ross) Cook. He was joined in marriage to his wife of fifty years Jeanette Perrin in 1953 and she preceded him in death Jan. 2004. William married Diana DeBruyan on February 9, 2005. Answering the call of his country Bill served in the US Air Force for ten years including the Korean War. He was a member of the American Legion Posts of Cadillac and Flushing, and had been employed by Complete Auto Carriers for over twenty-seven years until his retirement. William had also been employed by Flint Auto Auction over ten years. Surviving are wife, Diana, mother, Jennie M. DuBarry, children, Jon & Karen Cook of Flint, Gene & Jennifer Cook of Burton,and Jim Cook of Lansing, Aunt, Dot Ross of Mt. Morris, stepchildren; Tom & Lori Woods of Traverse City, Tim & Carolyn Woods of Gowen, Tony & Kris Woods of Gowen, and Tammy Woods of Clio. Nine grandchidlren, seven great grandchildren, many cousins, and his loyal boxer "Brandi". He was preceded in death by son William Morse, and daughter Jenny Cook.
