William John "Wild Bill" Palka of Richfield Township age 89 died Sunday March 4, 2018 at McCandish Manor in Grand Blanc. A funeral service will be held 11:00a.m. Thursday March 8, 2018 at Trinity Lutheran Church 706 W. Flint St. Davison Rev. Todd I. Frusti officiating with private burial at Davison Cemetery. Family will receive visitors Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. A memorial service with the Davison Eagles #3589 will be held at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Mr. Palka will lie in state at the church Thursday from 10:00am until time of service. Those desiring may make contributions to Trinity Lutheran Memorial Fund. Bill was born in Flint Township, Michigan on August 11, 1928 the son of the late Frank and Katherine (Kadelechik) Palka and has resided in the Davison area since 1966. Answering the call of his country Bill was sergeant in the US Army 973 rd during the Korean War. Bill was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Croatian Club, Past President Davison Eagle Aries #3589, American Legion, Moose Club, and the Flint FOP. Bill enjoyed life and helping people. He could be found singing Karaoke and dancing at many of the area clubs. He also was an avid card player and always had a joke or two to whoever would listen. Bill spent 25yrs as a salesman and general foreman at King Cigar Co. and also was employed by Dupont Co until his retirement. Bill is survived by sister: Judy and husband Bill Walton; and many nieces and nephews and close friends. He is preceded in death by his brother and many sisters.
