William Richard Adams, of Genesee Township, age 89, died Friday March 1, 2013 at Briarwood Convalscent Center. Family will recieve visitors from 4-7 pm Sunday March 3, 2013 at the funeral home. Military Honors will be held at a later date at Great Lakes National Cemetery. William was born in New Cumberland West Virginia on August 6, 1923 the son of the late Moses & Alice (Hobbs) Adams and has resided in the Flint area most of his life. He was joined in marriage to Leon Loraine Plant on August 8, 1947. Answering the call of his country William served in the US Navy during WW II. William enjoyed the outdoors and was a avid hunter. He had been employed by General Motors AC Spark Plug Division for over twenty-seven years retiring in 1985. Surviving are wife Leon, son Dan Adams, daughter Michele and husband Vic McFillan, seven grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren, and five great great grandchildren.
