Wayne Alfred Richards of Elba Township age 91, died Wednesday October 7, 2015 at Briarwood Convalescent Center. A funeral service will be held at 12:00 noon Tuesday October 13, 2015 at Hansen Funeral Home Groves Chapel, Downtown Davison. Pastor Sarah LaRose-Nettell officiating, with private burial at a later date. Family will receive visitors from 10:00 am Tuesday until time of services. Those desiring may make contributions in Wayne's memory to the charity of your choice. Wayne was born in Lapeer county on June 30, 1924 the son of the late; Harold & Ada (Barber) Richards and has resided in the area since 1952. He was joined in marriage to Sybil Brown on July 3, 1948. Answering the call of his country Wayne served in the Naval-Air Corp during WW II. Wayne enjoyed the game of golf, was an avid card player regardless of the game, and spent many quiet hours doing word puzzles. He also was a life member of the Masonic Rite. Wayne had been employed by General Motors AC Spark Plug division for over thirty-six years retiring in 1979. He leaves to cherish his memory wife Sybil, son, Stuart (Sherry) Richards, daughter Jamie A. Richards, grandson Mark (Susan) Richards, great granddaughter Hana K. Richards and a host of other relatives. Wayne was preceded in death by wife Shirley Stuart, his brother Ronald Richards, and sisters Isabelle Dart, and Doris Rhoades.
