Virginia Louise "Ginnie" Spinney of Davison age 86 peacefully passed away on Wednesday October 21, 2009, at home surrounded by her family. A memorial service will by held on Sunday October 25, 2009 at St. Mark Lutheran Church 5073 Daly Blvd. Genesee Township. Rev. Gary L. Beck officiating. Family will recieve visitors from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. Friday and 1:00 - 4:00 and 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Those desiring may make contributions in Ginnie's memory to St. Mark Lutheran Church Memorial Fund. Virginia was born in Flint, Michigan August 11, 1923 the daughter of the late; Oshal and Lena (Saunders)Smithson an had resided in Davison since 1963. She was joined in marriage to Howard Spinney March 8,1944. Ginnie loved golf, and was pretty good at it too. Even when she barely had the breath, she could whack it a mile. She loved to quilt and sew, and she loved to bake. The huge cookie jar was always full at the Spinney house-but not for long. She loved to play poker and go to the casino. She didn't want to leave this life because she still wanted to do so many things, but she's breathing easy now and in the arms of her beloved son Tim. Ginnie is survived by husband Howard with whom she shared sixty-five years of marriage, son; Larry (Brenda), daughters:Christine, Roxanne (Larry), Jennifer (Todd), and Laurie (Jim). She leaves nineteen grandchildren, twenty-four great grandchildren; brothers,Robert "Buck", Charles "Jack", and Carl.She also leaves best friends Vera Gregus and Betty Spinney. She is preceded in death by son; Tim, brothers; Joe, Richard, and sister Bunny. A special thank-you to Tina Conner - you are truly an Angel.
