Vernon L. "Vern" Johnson of Davison age 72 died Saturday August 25, 2012 at his residence. Funeral Services will be held at 11:30 am Friday August 31, 2012 at Bethany Baptist Church 2350 Hemphill Rd, Burton. Pastor Mark Lasley officiating, burial to follow in Davison Cemetery. Family will recieve visitors from 1-4 and 6-8 pm Thursday at the funeral home. Those desiring may make contributions in Vernon's memory to the Church Memorial Fund. Vern was born in Grand Rapids Michigan September 14, 1939 the son of the late: Willard & Olive (Fisher) Johnson. He spent his early years in the Goodrich area and Davison the last twenty-eight years. Vern was a avid camper and had spent his summers in Harrison Michigan. He was joined in marriage to Carolyn Hooker June 30, 1984 in Swartz Creek, Michigan. Vern was a member of Bethany Baptist Church, former member ot the Goodrich Lions Club, and a number one fan of Michigan State Sports. He had been employed by General Motors SPO Division for over thirty years. Surviving is wife Carolyn, children Tony & Cathy Johnson, Todd & Barb Johnson, Cory & Jeanne Johnson, and stepson, David Burton. Ten grandchildren, sisters Barbara Deering, Glenda & Larry Thompson, Judy Bordeaux, Sharon & Larry Cummings, and a host of other relatives.
