Vera M. Crawford (nee Murphy). A cancer survivor for twenty-nine years, died Monday October 24, 2011 at Genesys Regional Medical Center. At Vera's request there will be no public services. Burial will take place at Acacia Park Cemetery. Those desiring may make contributions in Vera's memory to Waterford Foundation for Public Education, Michigan Cancer Society, or the Davison Senior Center. Vera was born in Pontiac Michigan the daughter of the late; Lawrence & Frances (Brace) Murphy and had spent many years in the Pontiac, Waterford and White Lake areas before moving to the Davison Community. She was joined in marriage to her best friend and wonderful husband David on May 28, 1960. She enjoyed swimming, camping, traveling, playing cards, games, family activities, and being with children. Vera earned her BS Degree in Education from Eastern Michigan University along with a Masters Degree in Education from the University of Michigan. Vera taught in the Pontiac, Bloomfield Hills and Waterford School Districts for forty-two years. She leaves to cherish her memory beloved husband David, loving children, Laurie (Ed) Larsen, Lee (Sue) Crawford, and Eric Crawford. Grandchildren: Becky, Nathan, Joshau, Jeremy,Jenny, Jacob, William, Michael, and Felicia. Great grandchild Dylon, and Brother Larry (Elaine) Murphy. She is preceded in death by Sister Carol Chappell.
