Vera Ernestine Barnes Wright age 96 of Burton, formally of East Jordan, went to be with Jesus, August 7, 2011 with her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and friends, around her singing Jesus Loves Me. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday August 27, 2011 at the Shawn Baptist Church 2493 N. Genesee Rd., Burton. Rev. Raymond Cocks officiating. Private burial in Davison Cemetery. Vera was born in Antrim Michigan October 8, 1914 the daughter of the late: Ernest and Leonia (Wells) Barnes. She retired from Oakdale Center in 1980, and attended Lighthouse Missionary Church in East Jordon Michigan. She loved watching the Red Wings play, sewing, reading, crosswords, fishing, traveling, and listening to family members play music and sing. Left to cherish her memory are her children: Gordon, Peggy Craine, Dan (Jean), Vonnie (Dan) Evans, Brenda (Doug) Derr, several nieces and nephews. Ernestine was preceded in death by siblings: Mildred, Ivan, Ledah, Lizzie, Nila, and Marion. Husbands: Claude Wright and Louis Saumier.
