IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Timothy James
"Tim" Burns
May 24, 1959 – September 9, 2025
Timothy James "Tim" Burns of Davison, age 66, lost his battle with cancer Tuesday September 9, 2025, at Mclaren-Flint Hospital. A Gathering time for family and friends will be held from 1-4 p.m. Saturday September 20, 2025, at Hansen Funeral Home Groves Chapel, Downtown Davison. A private burial will be held at Davison Cemetery at a later date. Those desiring may make donations to Hansen Funeral Home or to his wife Patricia to cover funeral and medical costs.
Tim was born in Flint Michigan on May 24, 1959, he was the son of the late Robert and Ethel (Luttrell) Burns and resided in the Davison area his entire life. He was a graduate of Davison High School Class of 1978. He had been with his wife Patricia "Tricia" (Bigler) Burns since August of 1980, and they were joined in marriage on May 25, 1989.
Tim was the epitome of a good man. He was intolerant of racism, chauvinism and bullying of any kind. He had some strong opinions and liked to express them. He was a loving husband, brother and uncle. He had a great sense of humor and a generous spirit. He was always more than happy to help anyone in need by donating food to those that were less fortunate, plowing the neighbors' driveways, or helping a stranded stranger. He was dependable and was someone you could call in the middle of the night who would not hesitate to help.
Tim spent his life in the building trades. He spent many days using his construction skills to work on family and friends' projects, whether that meant roofing or siding a house, building an addition or many others. He was a jack of all trades and master of most, including carpentry, plumbing, electrical, flooring, and siding. He was a craftsman, both with wood and metal and had true pride in workmanship.
Tim liked classic cars, classic rock and R&B, road trips, camping, boating, nature, gardening, and going to festivals and events. He was interested in history and antiques and enjoyed going to museums.
Tim loved spending time with family and friends. One of his greatest joys was getting people together for the holidays, Saturday game nights, open houses, and Halloween costume parties, many of which included live music. Some of his gatherings could even be considered legendary.
He leaves to cherish his memory his wife and best friend Tricia, his siblings Colleen Vuketich, Bob (Liana) Burns, Julie (Matt) Tvardos, and Matt (Malia) Burns. He also leaves many nieces and nephews, and he had a special relationship with his great nephews Jayden and Max among others. Tim is also survived by numerous extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Cindy Burns Grierson and Maurene "Missy" Burns, brother-in-law Steve Vuketich, father-in-law Donald Bigler, mother-n-law Ann (Verhaeghe) Bigler-Naganashe, and father-in-law Joe Naganashe.
