PANOS, Thomas "Tom" of Davison age 88 died Wednesday June 3, 2009 in Florence South Carolina. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday June 7, 2009 at the Hansen Funeral Home Groves Chapel, Downtown. Come join family and friends for remembrance and celebration of Tom's life. Private burial at Meadowview Cemetery. The family will receive visitors from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Those desiring may make contributions to Carriage Town Missions. Tom was born in Flint Michigan June 9, 1921 the son of Gregory & Jane (Anastor) Panos and had resided in the Davison area since 1955. He was joined in marriage to Betty J. Blue June 26, 1944 and she preceded him in death January 16, 2002. Tom was a member of the Elks Club #16, Davison Eagles #3589, Davison Masonic Lodge # 236 F&AM, Davison VFW Post #4087, and Davison American Legion Post #267. Mr. Panos was employed by Michigan Bell for forty years retiring in the 1980's. Surviving are children; Penny Horgan, Gregory Panos, and Thomas & Denise Panos Jr. grandchildren; Jeff & Lorie, Kevin and Mandy, Brad, Jeff & Lori, Amanda & Brian, Kate & Brett, Stacy & Chris, Matt & Sylvia, and Gregor & Dana. Great Grandchildren; Rachael, Haley, Van, Ciara, Devon, Hayden, Emma, Cameron, Josh and Taylor and a host of other relatives. He is preceded in death by brothers; Samuel and Peter.
