Thomas Lawrie

Thomas C. “Scottie” Lawrie of Burton age 90, died Wednesday April 15, 2026 at Hyde park Assisted Living, Flushing surrounded by family. A Celebration of Life will be held at 12:00 noon Monday April 20, 2026 at First Baptist Church 208 E. Fourth St. Davison, Michigan with Dorothea Weist, Celebrant. Family will receive visitors from 10:00 am Monday until time of services at the church. Those desiring may make contributions in Thomas’s memory to First Baptist Church Memorial Fund.

Thomas was born in Motherwell, Scotland on February 29, 1936 the son of the late James and Mary (Caldwell) Lawrie and has resided in Burton most of his life. He was joined in marriage to Margaret Stewart on October 17, 1959 in Scotland and she preceded him in death on December 6, 2018. Thomas enjoyed the game of hockey, and was an avid golfer. His greatest love was spending time with his loving grandchildren, great-grandchildren and family. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Davison, and had been employe by General Motors AC Spark Plug Division until his retirement.

Thomas leaves to cherish his memory daughter Marchelle and husband Timm Allen, and son Gordon and wife Pamela Lawrie. He also leaves his loving grandchildren: Kirk (Emily), Khyleigh (Zach), and Chloe, his great-grandchildren; Hudson, Hayes, Luke, Presley, and Molly. He also leaves a host of extended family and friends both in America and Scotland. He is preceded in death by four brothers and one sister.
