Thomas Richard James

Thomas Richard James of Burton, age 71, died Friday March 20, 2026 at his residence. Honoring his wishes cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

Thomas was born in Flint Michigan on a March 7, 1955 the son of the late: Kenneth and Norma (Kelley) James and had spent his early years in the Flint area. Tom relocated to California for many years to recently return to Burton. He attended Ainsworth High School and graduated in 1973, continuing his education Tom attended Mott Community College. Tom enjoyed golfing and socializing with family and friends. Tom had spent most of his career years as a Mortgage Broker.

Surviving is brother Jeff James, nieces: Sloane James, Michele Lenoir, and nephew Matthew (Kandy Jenkins) James. He also leaves his aunt Margaret James; close family friend Regina Case, and a host of extended family and friends. Tom is preceded in death by brother Lynwood “Lyn” James, and his former wife Sandra Castleman.
