Shirley Ann Stanton of Genesee Township age 79, died Wednesday September 7, 2011 at her residence. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Saturday September 10, 2011, at the Hansen Funeral Home Groves Chapel, Downtown Davison. Fr. Carl Simons officiating. Burial in Summerfield Township Cemetery. Family will recieve visitors from 2 - 8 pm Friday at the funeral home. Shirley was born in Flint, Michigan July 25, 1932 the daughter of Maxim & Agnes (Murray) Burnash, spending most of her life in the Flint area and a period of time in Harrison. She was joined in marriage to Robert Stanton Sr. on August 31, 1952 and he preceded her in death October 17, 1989. Shirley was a graduate of St. Mary Catholic School in Flint and a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Mt. Morris. Shirley graduated from Hurley School of Nursing in 1951 and spent a large part of her nursing career at Hurley Medical Center and St. Joseph Hospital. Surviving are children; Debby Coulter, Barbara Beckwith, Mary Schmier, Scott Stanton, and John & wife Caron Stanton. Thirteen grandchildren, and twelve great grandchildren. Brothers; Maxim & wife Lou Burnash, and Mike & wife Faye Burnash. Sisters; Mary Krish, Catherine & husband Terry Timmons, Ida & husband Bob Forsberg, and a host of other relatives. She is preceded in death by son Robert Jr.and his wife Angela,daughter, Cheryl Lynn Stanton, grandson Jeffrey Fisher, brother,Francis Burnash.
