Shirley A. Brownson of Davison age 89 died Monday February 15, 2009 at Genesys Hospice Care Center, Goodrich Michigan. The family will recieve friends at the Hansen Funeral Home 421 N.Main St. Davison on Thursday February 18, 2010 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. A private burial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday February 19, 2010 at Elm Lawn Cemetery, Bay City, Michigan with Pastor Bill Allwardt officiating. Shirley was born December 15, 1920 in Bay City, Michigan the daughter of the late Harvey Hayward and Lillian Hayward Fish. She married Dallas Dean Brownson on March 5, 1942 and they resided in the Flint area. He preceded her in death in 1981. Also preceding her in death were daughter Mary Ann, great-granddaughter Samantha Rose Sacco, son-in-law Col. James F. Russell, step-father Lcdr. Norris L. Fish and best friend Mary Lou Pattinson. She was a member of the Jr. League of Flint, the Red Cross, McLaren Hospital Auxiliary, Flint Symphony Auxiliary (Allegro) and the Women's Auxiliary of Michigan for Reserve Officers Association. Shirley was a lady of great style and a gracious hostess. Most of all she was a devoted mother, a generous friend and a brave and bright spirit. She leaves to treasure her memory children Susan Russell of Sarasota Fl, Dallas Brownson (Jan) of Saginaw and Deborah Young (Clyde) of Davison; grandchildren Brian Peyton, Brooke Sacco (George), and Michael Peyton; great-grandchildren Ken, Ashley, Kelsey, and Justin Peyton, and Joseph and Mary Ann Sacco; and devoted cat Naomi.
