Obituary

Samuel J. Jordan of Davison age 88 died Saturday October 13, 2012 at Genesys Regional Medical Center. Honoring his wishes cremation has taken place. A graveside service will be held at 1:00 pm Friday October 26, 2012 at Davison Cemetery with Military Honors to follow. Those desiring may make contributions in Sam's memory to the charity of your choice. Samuel was born in Warrensburg New York the son of the late: John & Delia (Cleveland) Jordan and has resided in the Davison area for many years. Sam was joined in marriage to Phyllis Moriarty in March 1945 and she preceded him in death Nov. 6, 1993. He married Barbara Crane Bancroft on Aug. 24, 2002. Answering the call of his country Samuel proudly served in the 101st Airborne Division during WW II. and was a member of Davison VFW Post 4087. He served as a Davison City Police Officer and Davison Township Constable during the 1950s. He was employed by Teamsters Local 324 until his retirement in 1985. Surviving is wife Barbara, sons Keith Jordan & wife Dr. Kathryn L. Moseley, and William & wife Margaret Jordan. Grandchildren Shaun & husband Eric Kovatch, and Patrick Lind. Great granddaughter Danila Kovatch. Sisters Ruth Leonard, and Golda Comb. Stepchildren Jay & wife Rhonda Bancroft, Dean & wife Luann Bancroft,and Tracy & wife Janice Bancroft. Step grandchildren Christina & husband Tom Alspauch, Danielle & Robb Haas, Elizabeth Bancroft, Evan Bancroft, and Catharine Bancroft. Step great grandchildren Stephaney Alspauch, and Jakob Alspauch. and a host of other relatives. He is preceded in death by grandson Daniel Jordan, four brothers and one sister.
