Russell F. Cates of Davison, age 91 died Thursday November 10, 2011 at his residence. A graveside service will be held at 2:30 pm Monday November 14, 2011 at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park, 4210 Central Ave. Toledo Ohio. Russell was born in Newark, Ohio on November 4, 1920 the son of the late: Floyd & Ada (Varney) Cates. He has been a Davison area resident since 1991, spending most of his life in the Toledo area. Russell was joined in marriage to Edna Allore on July 4, 1942. Answering the call of his country he served in the US Air Force during WW II. Russell was a member of Davison American Legion Post #267, and had been employed by Toledo Edison until his retirement in 1982. He leaves to cherish his memory wife, Edna, daughter Christine Cates & son-in-law Jamal Esshaki. Son Robert Michael Cates & daughter in law Denise: Grandchildren, Kim, and Darrell, Great grandchildren, Shellby, and Haley.Brother-in-law Jim Coyle.
