Ruby Marie McDill (Russ) maiden name Elliott passed away on Tuesday August 23, 2022. Ruby was born on August 31, 1933 in Ypsilanti Michigan. She was the daughter of Carman and Berniece Elliott. Ruby attended school in several places, including the Henry Ford School in Saline Michigan. When Ruby was twelve she moved with her family to Linden Michigan and graduated from Linden High School, after which she attended GMI in Flint, now Kettering. She worked at General Motors for several years. In 1955 she married Robert Russ and had three daughters, Rebecca, Sheree, and Jacqueline. Later they divorced and she married John McDill. Ruby was a homemaker for many years and then worked as a secretary. She was a member of St. Mark Lutheran Church then later Our Risen Lord Lutheran Church. She spent retirement going to her grandson's baseball and basketball games, and being active in her Church. She leaves to cherish her memory her three daughters Rebecca Russ, Sheree Russ, and Jacqueline Allen, two Grandsons Justin and Joshua Allen, many nieces and nephews, extended family and friends. A celebration of life will be held at 12: 00 noon Saturday October 1, 2022 at Our Risen Lord Lutheran Church 4040 Lapeer Rd. Burton. Family will receive visitor from 11:00 am Saturday until time of services. A luncheon will follow the services at the church. Instead of flowers contributions can be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital or Wounded Warriors or other disabled Veterans charities.
