Roy Ellsworth Donaldson of Mt. Morris formerly of Richfield Township, age 76, died Thursday August 12, 2021 at Ascension-Genesys Hospital. Honoring his wishes cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 am Saturday September 25, 2021 at Hansen Funeral Home Groves Chapel, Downtown Davison with Pastor Greg Capsel officiating. Family will receive visitors from 10 am until time of services.Those desiring may make contributions in his memory to St. Jude's Children's Hospital or the Gideon's International.

Roy was born in Los Angeles California on March 10, 1945 the son of Leland & Eunice (Batterbee) Donaldson and had resided in the Mt. Morris area since 2012, spending most of his life in the Richfield Township area. Answering the call of his country Roy proudly served in the US Navy during the Vietnam War as a Corpsman. He was a member of the DAV, and was a member of Royal Heirs Gospel Group for over twenty years. Roy was a Teacher at George Daly School in the Kearsley School District from 1977 until 1982. He was employed by General Motors AC/Delphi Division Maintenance Supervisor until his retirement in 2009.

He is survived by wife Bonnie, son Lee (Shannon) Donaldson, and daughter Tina (Michael) Power. He also leaves his loving grandchildren: Andrew (Kayla) Donaldson, Simon Power, Lucas Power, Hailey Donaldson, Connor Donaldson, Morgan Donaldson, Olivia Donaldson, and Nicholas Donaldson.  Also surviving is mother Eunice G. Tobias, and sister Joyce (John) Minor. His stepchildren; Matthew (Mellissa) Wingate, Dulci (Douglas) Fine, step-grandchildren: Nicholas Wingate, Juniper Wingate, Celeste Fine, Adrian Fine, and a host of extended family and friends.
