Ronald Lee Shaffer of Lapeer formerly of Davison, age 81, died Thursday July 16, 2020 at his residence. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am Tuesday July 28, 2020 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church 814 W. Nepessing St. Lapeer.  Fr. Brian Hurley, Celebrant, burial will follow at Mt. Loretto Catholic Cemetery. Family and friends will gather at the church from 10 am until time of services. Those desiring may contributions in Ron's memory to the family.

Ron was born in Davison Michigan on January 3, 1939 the son of the late James & Amy (Miller) Shaffer, and has resided in the Lapeer area since 1965 spending his early years in Davison. He was joined in marriage to Sylvia Parrish on July 10, 1965. Ronald spent most of his life farming and the dairy business, and had retired from Lapeer County Co-Op.

He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife of fifty-five years Sylvia, his children: Ronald L (Shannon) Shaffer Jr., Amy Dion Shaffer, Rebecca Ann "Becky" Shaffer, and Erik John (Gerry) Shaffer. He also leaves grandchildren: Leesha, Kathleen, Keelee, Cheyanne, Ronald III, Wayne, Bailey, Logan, Hailey, and his great grandchildren: Luna, Lily, Liam, and Ryan. His surviving siblings: brother Miles, sisters: Jan, Myrna, Linda, Beth, and a host of extended family and friends.
