Ronald Wayne Bishop of Burton age 56 died Tuesday December 21, 2010. Mass of Christian will be celebrated at noon Tuesday December 28, 2010 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church 404 Dayton St. Davison, Fr. Andrew Czajkowski will be officiating. Family will receive visitors from 1-4 and 6-8 on Monday at the funeral home, then 11-12 on Tuesday at St. John. Contribution may be made in Ron's memory to the charity of your choice. Ron was born to the late; Delbert & Dorothy (Boothe) Bishop in Richlands Virginia on September 26, 1954. He grew up in Michigan and as an adult, lived in Gaines for many years before settling in Burton. Answering the call of his country, Ron served in the US Navy during the Vietnam War. Ron loved and cherished his time in the outdoors; he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping. He was a avid NASCAR fan and found pleasure in a good game of cards with family and friends. He appreciated music of many genres and found joy playing the guitar. Ron had a gift of never meeting a stranger that didn't become a friend by the time the conversation was over. He retired from General Motors Fisher Body and SPO Divisions, in September 2006. He is survived by the love of his life, Karan and his three sons: John Ryan and Tiffany (wife)Bishop, Christopher Hubler, and David Bishop; grandson Noah; sister Theresa Bishop; uncle Charles Boothe; second mom: Maxine Swisher, and a host of other relatives, and friends. He will also be missed by his special loyal companion and pet, Maddie.
