Robert A. Whitman of Lapeer age 87 died Sunday September 19, 2010 at his residence surrounded by his family. Honoring his wishes cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at 3:00 pm Sunday October 17, 2010 at the Pineview Mennonite Church, Swaffer Rd. Millington. Rev. Roger Hazen officiating. Robert was born in Flint, Michigan December 14, 1922 the son of the late; Harry and Estella (Losee) Whitman. He was joined in marriage to Lillian Jolly on September 26, 1975. Answering the call of his country Robert served in the US Army during WW II. He had been employed by the Sate of Michigan. Robert was a hard worker during his entire life, building homes, repairing clocks, bikes and furniture. He had been involved in the Lapeer International Dragway spanning some thirty years. Robert also worked for Albrecht Auction along side of his wife. He will be greatly missed and leaves to cherish his memory Wife Lillian, Children: Marilee, Aleta, Eileen, Diane, Rob, and Bill. Ten grandchildren, Fifteen great grandchildren, Brother and Sister in law Dale and Ethel. Robert was preceded in death by Sister Jean Johnson, and Brother Thomas Whitman
