Robert Duwayne Proffer of Burton age 76 died Monday November 2, 2009 at Hurly Medical Center. Honoring his wishes cremation has taken place. Private services and burial will be held Thursday November 5, 2009 at Flint Memorial Park with Rev. Sarah Larose-Nettell officiating. Those desiring may make contributions in Robert's memory to the American Diabetes Association. Robert was born February 24, 1933 in Burton Michigan the son of the late; Wiley and Myrtle (Robertson) Proffer and had resided in the Burton area his entire life.He was joined in marriage to Dorothy Black May 3, 1958 and had been employed by General Motors AC Delco Division for over forty-two years retirng in 1993. surviving is wife: Dorothy, children: Pamela Jean and husband David Loudermilk, James Wiley and wife Kim Proffer, Victoria and husband Michael Lumbach.Twelve grandchildren, and three great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by son: Jeffrey Scott Proffer.
