Robert Herbert Meyer of Burton, formerly of Davison, age 81, died Friday, May 1, 2026 at his residence. Honoring his wishes cremation has taken place. Private inurnment will be held at Great Lakes National Cemetery at a later date.

Robert was born in Brooklyn, New York on January 9, 1945. The son of Herbert and Mary (Pettinato) Meyer and has resided in the Davison-Burton area since 1994. He was joined in marriage to Donna Hale on August 4, 1989. Answering the call of his country, Robert served in the Army, Army Reserve, Coast Guard Reserve, Coast Guard, Navy Reserve, Navy, continuing his military career until his retirement in 1994. Robert truly enjoyed camping and woodworking. He loved his dogs, but his greatest enjoyment in life was being surrounded with his family.

He leaves to cherish his memory, wife Donna, children: Robert Cettina, Eric (Tracy) Meyer, Serrena Meyer, Colleen (Foued) Meyer-Azizi, and Brooke-Lynn Meyer. He also leaves his loving four grandchildren, brother William “Billy” (Joan) Meyer and a host of extended family and friends. “The family would like to extend their gratitude to their lifelong friend Bonnie Brown”.
