Robert Paul James of Columbiaville, formerly of Illinois age 82 died Thursday July 28, 2011 at Ann Arbor VA Medical Center. Honoring his wishes cremation has taken place. Private memorial services will be held at a later date with burial in the family plot in Illinois. Robert was born in Urbana, Illinois February 8, 1929 the son of the late: David and Mildred (Robbins) James, and had spent most of his life in Florida and Illinois. He was joined in marriage to Dorothy Franklin October 1950 and she preceded him in death October 1998. Answering the call of his country Robert served in the US Army during the Korean War. Robert was a Black Powder Gun enthusiast and always enjoyed a good crossword puzzle. He leaves to cherish his memory children; Ginger and husband Jim Baier of Columbiaville, Fred and wife Shelley James of Clio, Frank James of Florida, four grandchildren, and eight great grandchildren.
