Robert Kent Giles of Flushing age 73 died Wednesday March 12, 2014 at his residence. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 1:00 pm Friday March 21, 2014 at St. Roberts Catholic Church 310 N. Cherry St. Flushing, Fr. Paul J. Schwermer, Celebrant. Family will receive visitors from 12:00 noon Friday until time of services at the church. Those desiring may make contributions in Robert's memory to Gentiva Hospice. Robert was born in Mt. Morris Michigan May 30, 1940 the son of the late; Paul & Ruth (Beckman) Giles. He was joined in marriage to Ruth Ann Vorachek on December 15, 1978. Answering the call of his country Robert served in the US Army. He was a avid outdoorsman enjoying hunting, fishing and spending time with family. He was employed by General Motors Buick Division retiring after thirty-two years of service. Left to cherish his memory is wife Ruth Ann, children; Amy Giles-Somers and husband Corey, Tammy Harris Wagner and husband Ken, and Mark Inskeep. Grandchildren: Kelsey, Brandon, Keagen, Blake, Steve, Matt, Adrianne, Eric, Lindsey, Dakota, and Great grandchildren; Lucas, Gracie, and Sammie. Brother Ed, sisters Linda and Nancy. He is preceded in death by brothers Ernie, Chuck, Avery, and Sisters Rose, Mary, Pat, and Helen. The family would like to express special thanks to Dave, Rose,and Kim Goss, and Jolena Stepanslei.
