Robert Victor Friese of Flint age 87 died Thursday June 7, 2012 at McLaren - Flint. Honoring his wishes cremation has taken place. A Memorial service will be held at 1:00 pm Wednesday June 20, 2012 at the Hansen Funeral Home Groves Chapel, Downtown Davison. Rev. Harold Polk officiating, with private burial at Lakeside Cemetery Port Huron. Robert was born in Wolsey South Dakota the son of the late; William & Lena (Langbehn) Friese, and had resided in the Flint area for many years. Bob was a 1943 graduate of Huron High School, Huron South Dakota. Answering the call of his country Bob served in the US Marine Corp during WW II and the Korean War. He also was a Tenor soloist for fifty years in many of the area churches. Surviving are siblings Evelyn Wandelt and Barbara Bolton. Daughters Barbara Zielinski and Chris of Lexington MI., Mary Singer and Rob of Mt. Morris, Natalie Burch of Lewiston MI., Gina Weld of Davison, and Bobbi Green and Ron of Burton. Thirteen grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild. several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by one brother and two sisters.
