Robert Earl Caraway of Burton, age 69, died Wednesday 27, 2026 at his residence. Honoring his wishes cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 pm Sunday June 14, 2026 at the family residence. Those desiring may make contributions in Robert’s memory to the Alzheimer Foundation.

Robert was born in Flint, Michigan on January 30, 1957 the son of the late: Marion R. and Evelyn M. (Boyd) Caraway and has resided in the Davison-Burton area his entire life. He was joined in marriage to LaVonne Hitsman on December 23, 1981 in Fenton Michigan. Robert was a graduate of Davison High School Class of 1975. Robert was an avid golfer. Robert found great joy in his woodworking and spending time building model vehicles some from kits or with his ability from scratch. In his quiet time Robert loved watching NASCAR. He was a member of Teamsters Local 614 and had been employed by Jack Cooper Commercial Carriers retiring in 2010 with over thirty-nine years of service.

He leaves to cherish his memory his wife of over forty-four years LaVonne. His loving children: Megan (nee Caraway) Abbott, Robert (Joseph Thurlow) Caraway, Morgan (nee Caraway) Ian Egnater, and son-in-law Troy Abbott. Robert also leaves his loving grandchildren, Ashton Abbott, Blake Abbott, and Elliott Egnater. His siblings: Raymond (Carla) Caraway, Marion (Nicki) Caraway, Kathryn (Rich) Visser, and several nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
