Rita Mae Holzer of Flint age 81 died Wednesday September 30, 2009 at the residence. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Friday October 2, 2009 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church 6340 Roberta Dr. Burton. Fr. Joseph S. Kim officiating. Burial at Flint Memorial Park. Family will recieve visitors from 1-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Rita will lie in state atg the church from 10;00 a.m. Friday until time of services. Those desiring may make contributions in Rita's memory to the Church Memorial Fund. Rita was born in Glassport Pa. January 2, 1928 the daughter of the late Ralph and Beatrice (Czuba) Kelley and has resided in the Flint area most of her life. She was joined in marriage to Alfred Holzer January 31, 1946 and he preceded her in death November 1988. She was a member of Most Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church and had been employed by Bentley Community Schools for over twenty years retiring in 1995. Surviving are childen; Daniel (Dawn) Holzer, Carol (Ron) Proffer, Alfred "Bud" (Cindy) Holzer, Nancy Blackhurst & Paul, Tina (Jeff) Coron. Ten grandchildren, Six great grandchildren, sister; Gail Creswell, special friends; Jean Fraim, Phyllis Nesmith, Uncle George and a host of other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by sister;Dolly and stepmother Lou Kelley. The family would like to express thier gratitude to Avalon Hospice and Medical Staffs and also Paul Hibbard her care giver.
