Richard Lewis Williams of Davison age 74, died Thursday September 7, 2017 at Hurley Medical Center. Honoring his wishes cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 pm Tuesday September 12, 2017 at Hansen Funeral Home Groves Chapel, Downtown Davison. Mr. Joel  Florida officiating. Family will receive visitors for 11:00 am Tuesday until time of services. Those desiring may make contributions in Richard's memory to Elf Khurafeh Shriner's Children Hospital or Hurley Children Foundation. Richard was born on March 17, 1943 the son of the late: Rex & R.Mildred (Christ) Williams and has resided in the Davison – Flint area his entire life. Richard was a graduate of Davison Class of 1961. Richard had been a very active member of the community and had belonged to numerous organizations such as: FOP Lodge 145, the Masonic Rite, Elf Khurafeh, Burton Eagles and Big Brothers to name a few. Richard's family had owned and operated Williams Guns Sight for many years and he had also been employed there. He also was employed by the Genesee County Sheriff Department until retiring in 1980. Surviving are children: Shelly Blondin and husband Barry, Yvonne Beagle and husband Carl. He also leaves seven grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, and his sister Marsha Moore and Willie. His step-mother Vivian Williams and step-siblings: Fred Behlen, Yvonne Brokaw-Behlen, Gail Hayes, and Janet Mondeau. He is preceded in death by great granddaughter Dakota, and Richard's sister Carol Florida. The family would like to express their gratitude to the Doctors, Nurses, and staff at the Hurley Trauma Center, also those on 9 East, and especially Christina and Lyric.
