Richard D. Johnson of Davison, age 84 of Davison died Wednesday November 20, 2013 at Genesys Hospital. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 1:00 pm Friday November 22, 2013 at St. John Catholic Church, Davison. Fr. Carl Simon, celebrant, with burial at Great Lakes National Cemetery at a later date. Family will receive visitors form 12:00 noon Friday until time of services at the church. Those desiring may make contributions in Richard's memory to St. Jude Children's Hospital. Richard was born in Millington Michigan May 14, 1929 the son of the late: Harold & Bessie (Jamisen) Johnson and has resided in the Davison area since 1958. He was joined in marriage to Lorraine A. Hoban on April 28, 1951. Answering the call of his country Richard served in the US Army 511th Airborne Regiment during the Korean War, and was a member of the Davison VFW Post 4087. He was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, and had been employed by General Motors Buick Powerhouse Division for forty years retiring in 1993. Surviving is wife, Lorraine, children: Deborah (Robert) Evatt, Michael (Peggy O'Neil) Johnson, Marie (David) Krantz, and Matthew Johnson. Grandchildren: Jennifer, Angela, Michelle and Daniel. great grandchildren, Dylan, Emily, Ashlee, Mehgan, Lucas, and Jordan. Brother Jim (Barb) Johnson, and sister Joan Pierce.
