Richard Michael Bigsby Sr., 73, of Burton, passed away Monday October 5, 2026 at his residence. Honoring his wishes cremation has taken place. Family will receive visitors on Friday October 9, 2026 from 4:00-8:00pm at Hansen Funeral Home Downtown Davison.

Richard was the son of the late Ray Charles and Sara Emily (Gould) Bigsby. He married Bette Bigsby in August of 1981. He graduated from Atherton Community Schools. Richard loved to travel, go to the casino, play with his grandchildren, and tinker with anything that had an engine. He was quick witted and always up for a good laugh. Richard was instrumental in bringing the staff from four hospitals into Genesys Hospital as the leader of the Union.

Surviving is his wife of 45 years, Bette; Sons, Michael (Lyndi), Jason (Crystal) and Daughter Traci; Grandson James, Granddaughters Jennalynn, Brooklynn, and Katelynn; brother, Philip (Debbie) Bigsby; sister-in-law’s Theresa Bigsby, Patricia (Richard) Galdoni and Lisa Hillaker. He leaves behind several wonderful nieces and nephews.Richard was preceded in death by his parents, Brothers, Daniel and Timothy, Daughter, Jennifer and Granddaughter, Danielle.

Olivia, Percy, Tucker, Halo, Klondike and Boo will miss napping in his lap as well as all of the treats he gave them.
