Paul Joseph Isaac of Burton, age 87, died Friday August 31, 2018 at Genesys Regional Medical Center, surrounded by his family. Honoring his wishes cremation has taken place. Private burial on the family plot will be held at the Assyrian Cemetery. Paul was born in Flint Michigan on July 8, 1931 the son of the late; Joseph and Mary Isaac, and has resided in Burton since 1967. He was joined in marriage to Gloria (Castle) Surles on February 18, 1967. Paul and Gloria enjoyed their blended family for the next fifty-one years with numerous gatherings, birthdays and holidays, much to Paul's delight. He was a proud member of the Democratic Party, the Assyrian Association, and Union Representative of Local 659. Paul had been employed by General Motors Chevrolet Division until his retirement in 1988. He leaves his wife Gloria, children; Linda (Jack) Watson, Debbie Surles, Karen Surles, Mark (Cindy) Surles, and Stephanie (Ed) LaFuente. He also leaves his grandchildren; Tricia Watson, Amy (Rob) Rosario, Andrea (Jeremy) Sears, Erin (Jacob) Desgrange, Natalia LaFuente, and Bob Baxter. Also his great grandchildren: Olivia Desgrange Anna Rosario, Mikiela Sears, Sophie Rosario, Makenzie Irvine, Morgan Sears, Mason Sears, Taylor Baxter, Kyarra Allen, and Michael Parker. His nephews: John Isaac, Peter Isaac and their families. He is preceded in death by parents Joseph & Mary Isaac, brother and sister-in-law: Khoshaba & Rachel Isaac, and granddaughters, Carey Baxter, and Monika LaFuente.
