Patricia Ann Vavra

Patricia Ann Vavra of Genesee Township age 90 died Wednesday July 22, 2026 with her daughter by her side. A Mass of Resurrection will be held on Tuesday July 28th at 11:00 am at Holy Rosary Catholic Church 5191 Richfield Rd. Flint, MI 48506, followed by Rites of Burial in New Calvary Catholic Cemetery, with, Fr. Roy Horning officiating. Family will receive visitors Monday July 27th from 3:00-7:00pm at Hansen Funeral Home with A Parish Rosary being prayed at 6:30 pm at the funeral home Monday evening. She will lie in state Tuesday from 10:00am until time of services. Those desiring may make contributions in Patricia’s memory to Holy Rosary Education Fund,

Patricia was born in Flint, Michigan on September 10, 1935 the daughter of the late Harvey and Agnes (Deroscher) Ethier and resided in the Flint area most of her life. She was joined in marriage to Edward J. Vavra on October 26, 1954 and he preceded her in death November 11, 2015. Patricia was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church and the 50 and over club. Patricia enjoyed knitting, sewing, word searches, going to the Casino with her husband. She enjoyed babysitting all the kids in the neighborhood.

She leaves to cherish her children: Ken and wife Diana Vavra, Karen and husband Robert Spegar, and Kim Morgan; grandchildren: Kellie, Megan, Kari, Marieau, Kristen, Jonathan, and step-grandsons Josh, and Justin. She also leaves 7 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren, and host of extend family and friends. She is preceded in death by her daughter: Kathy Lynn Vavra 1957; brothers: William Ethier, and Charles Ethier.
