Obituary

Norma Jean Gee of Gladwin, formerly of Otter Lake and Otisville area, age 87, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, October 30, 2016. Honoring her wishes cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, November 12,at 1:00 p.m. at the Millington United Methodist Church, 9020 State Road, Millington, Mi. with visitation and luncheon served at the church following the service.
Norma was born in Albion, Michigan on July 14, 1929, the daughter of the late Howard and Lucille (Van Wagnen) Griffin, and the step-daughter of the late William Throop. She graduated from Millington High School in 1947. Norma was joined in marriage to Donald Gee on January 31, 1948 and had resided in the Otter Lake area for many years, until retiring to Gladwin, Michigan.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband and sweetheart of 68 years, Donald. She also leaves her children; Penny (Louis) Kovacs, Linda (Bill) Lewis, Barbara (Michael) Marshall, Mark (Lori) Gee, and Michael Gee; her loving grandchildren; Kim (Thad) Ledy, Craig (Rachel) Morton, Katie (Bryan) Heid, Adam Lewis, Michael Gee, Kyle Gee, and her great-grandchildren; Jessica, Jasmine (Tymon), Jenna, Camden, Jade, Jorja, Marisa, Nash, Nolan, Lucas, and great-great-grandchildren; Lyla and Lenora. Also left are nieces Terry (Ray) Lewis and Merry (Allen) Fuson.
Norma was a member of the Otter Lake United Methodist Church where she served as Sunday School teacher and pianist for over 30 years. She worked in the kitchen at LakeVille High School and was a secretary at Mason Tackle in Otisville, MI. After their retirement, Norma and Don enjoyed camping and traveling, and later spent their winters in Bradenton, Florida where she enjoyed painting, Bingo, playing cards, and singing in the Village Voices choir. Due to ill health, her and Don recently moved to Burton, MI.
Norma will be cherished and remembered for her sweet spirit, wonderful smile, joyful nature, quiet faith, and great love for her family and friends.
God blessed Norma's final days with some special people. Her family would like to express their gratitude to Great Lakes Campus Care Hospice caregivers Cortney, Samantha, Marcella, and the staff at Lockwood Senior Living for their kindness and care. Also, special thanks to dear friend and Gladwin neighbor, Dottie Curci. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Millington United Methodist Church.
