Neal Bruce McKenzie of Davison, age 76, gained his wings after a battle with A.L.S. on Monday October 2, 2023 at his residence. Honoring his wishes cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life and Gathering time will be held from 1-4 pm Friday October 27, 2023 at the Flint Association of the Deaf 4156 Holiday Dr. Flint, Michigan. Private burial will be at Flint Memorial Park. Those desiring may make contributions in Neal's memory to Michigan School for the Deaf- Superintendent's House.

Neal was born in Flint Michigan on October 7, 1946 the son of the late James and Sophia (Sanders) McKenzie and has resided in Davison his entire life. He was a graduate of MSD Class of 1967 and graduated from Gallaudet University in 1972. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt and fish. He was involved in multiple sports associations, and served as a leader of CAAD for over thirty years. He served on the board of Dept. of Natural Resource, and served on the house board for Michigan School of the Deaf. Neal had been employed by General Motors AC-Delphi Division retiring after thirty plus years of employment.

Surviving are children: Juanita McKenzie, Jodie Nickerson (Tim), and his grandchildren: Damien Carpenter (Chelsea), Michael Grew, Sarina Grew (Sean), and Taylor Jackson. He also leaves his sister Nancy McKenzie (Millie), special friend; Pamela Hagen, and a host of extended family. He also leaves the mother of his children Shirley Fritz and numerous friends.
