Obituary

ML "Mike" Pray of Davison age 66, died Monday June 12, 2017 at his residence. Honoring his wishes cremation has taken place.  Burial with Military Honors will be held at 2:30 pm Wednesday June 21, 2017 at Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly. Those desiring may make contributions in Mike's memory to the Wounded Warrior Project.  Mike was born in Holly Michigan on July 24, 1950 the son of the late Myron & Pauline (Loomis) Pray and had resided in the Fenton and Davison area most of his life. Mr. Pray attended the Fenton School District Class of 1968, and this class was the first to graduate from the newly built Eastern Elementary School in 1961. In 1964 he was an original member of coach Duane Wolforts Inaugural Fenton High School Wrestling Team.  In March of 1970, he volunteered for service in the United States Marine Corps and was meritoriously promoted at Marine Corps Recruit Depot, San Diego Ca.  Mike was a Class Leader while assigned to the Aviation Schools at Naval Air Technical Training Command, Millington, Tenn. He proudly served his Country and Corps during the Vietnam War as an Aviation Mechanics Mate until his discharge in 1972. Mr. Pray attended the Detroit College of Business (Flint) and was named to the Dean's List in his first semester. During the 1980's Mike was a parental volunteer for Cub Scouts/Boy Scouts and helped coach T-Ball in Fenton. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Fenton and Davison, and had been a member of UAW Local 581. Mr. Pray had accepted employment with General Motors Fisher Body #1 on September 3, 1968 and after 32 years of faithful service and honest work; He retired from General Motors SPO in Swartz Creek on August 1, 2000. Finally finding the love of his life, he lived happily even to the time of his crossing over to his sure and certain reward. He leaves his 'Lady Love" Mary Ross, children: Chrystal Pray, Kim Pray, Jamie Ross, and his granddaughters Caylee Pray and Zoey Ross. Also surviving is siblings John "Jack" (Bonnie) Pray, Jill Pray Gilbert and a host of other relatives. He is preceded in death by son Michael Pray, daughter Tina Osborne, and sisters; Dawn Badder, Nancy Ferguson, and Sharon Carmody.
