Obituary

Michael George Schuplin of Davison, age 78, died Thursday October 21, 2021 surrounded by his family. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:00 pm Thursday November 4, 2021 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church 404 Dayton St. Davison, Fr. Andrew A. Czajkowski, Celebrant. Inurnment with Military Honors will be held at Great Lakes National Cemetery at a later date. Family will receive visitors from 12:00 noon Thursday until time of services at the church. Those desiring may make contributions in Michael's memory to the charity of your choice.

Michael was born in Flint Michigan on August 3, 1943 the son of George & Lucy (Brudnak) Schuplin and has resided in the Davison area most of his life. Michael was a graduate of St. Michael's Class of 1961. He answered the call of his country and proudly served in the US Army in the late 1960's, spending most of his time in Germany and Europe. During his time in Europe he was able to attend the Le Mans race as a photographer for North American Racing.

Michael held two Bachelor Degrees from Lawrence Technological University (BSIM 71' & BSEE 93').  He hired into AC Spark Plug in 1963 and held numerous positions at General Motors during his tenure. He earned various awards and received two patents during his career (US Patent Number 6,278,931 and 6,363,310).  He retired in 2001 as a Senior Application Engineer from Delphi Automotive Systems.

He was a member of the Fisher Body Craftsmen Guild and won an award during his teenage years. Michael had been a gun enthusiast and enjoyed participating in the bowling pin leagues at the Flushing Rifle & Pistol Club, and was a proud member of the NRA. Michael enjoyed woodworking, technology, loved working on and collecting cars, and his hobby of photography.

He leaves to cherish his memory his son Michael Jr. and wife Mallery Schuplin, and his loving grandchildren Michael III and Maverick Schuplin (Frick and Frack). He also leaves siblings; Mary Beth and husband John "Red" Reuter, Mary Sue and husband Joseph Greiner, Mary Ann and husband Tim Dubbs and a host of extended family and friends.
