Michael Chriss Brooks went home to be with his Lord and Savior on the morning of Friday, October 9, 2026, while residing in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

He was born on January 1, 1962, in Flint, Michigan, a son of the late Michael Jack Brooks and survived by his loving mother, June Rose Fittante, who both raised and supported him. Michael is survived by his wife, Carrie (Mason) Brooks, of forty-two years, their children, Christopher (Christina) and Isaac (Sarah) Brooks, his siblings, Tammy (Kevin) DePottey, Vince and Tim (Julie) Brooks, nieces, nephews and grandchildren. Michael loved his family and he had many friends whom he considered family.

Michael had a passion for learning and would read in his spare time. He would often learn some new technology that could be utilized in his position at AT&T, where he had the privilege to work for twenty-four years. Michael would use his skills for service at church; Genesee Christian School and he would form workdays to support the widows from church. He enjoyed spending vacations on the water and was a collector of quotes. One must never lose time in vainly regretting the past or in complaining against the changes which cause us discomfort, for change is the essence of life.” – Anatole France

A memorial service will be held at 11:30 am on Saturday, November 14, 2026, at Community Baptist Church, 3104 N. Oak Rd., Davison, MI 48423, with an open visitation starting at 11:00 am. The service may be viewed live for those unable to attend at Community Baptist Church. Join Us Live.
