Michael Roger Belanger., of Davison, age 73, died Wednesday, April 20, 2011 at Select Specialty Hospital at McLaren Regional Medical Center Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:30 AM Wednesday at St. John The Evangelist Catholic Church, 404 N. Dayton St., Davison, Rev. Fr. Andrew A. Czajkowski officiating. Burial in St. John Cemetery. Mr. Belanger will lie in state at the Hansen Funeral Home, 421 N. Main Street, Davison, where friends may call 5-8 PM Monday and 12-2 and 5-8 PM Tuesday. Rosary will be 6:30 PM Tuesday at the funeral home.Mike will lie in state at the church from 10:30 am Wednesday until time of services.Those desiring may make contributions in Mike's memory to Outreach East. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home. Michael was a man of prayer and attended daily Mass at St. John. He was a member of The World Apostolate of Fatima. Michael was born November 2, 1937 in Hazel Park, Michigan, the son of Jerome and Emma (LaCross) Belanger. He grew up in Suttons Bay. He served in the U.S. Army from 1955-57. He married Theresa Horne in 1977. He worked all his life in excavating for several companies and had owned his own business, C&M Excavating. Michael loved the outdoors, animals, and nature. He also loved anything with wheels or motors. His pastime the last few years had been his vegetable garden. Surviving are: wife, Theresa Belanger; sons, Jeffrey of Davison and Daniel and wife Deanna of Lapeer; granddaughter, Jadine Eickhoff; brother, Donald (Connie) of Naples, Florida; sisters, Joanne Kalchik of Traverse City and Sharon (Jerry) Noffsinger of Hampstead, N.C.; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Eugene.
