Michael Eugene Bayne of Burton, age 72, died Tuesday February 4, 2020 at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital, Ann Arbor. Military Honors and Burial will be held at 1:00 pm Friday February 7, 2020 at Great Lakes National Cemetery 4200 Belford Rd. Holly. Those desiring may make contributions in Michael's memory to VFW National Home for Children.

Michael was born in Rock Hill, South Carolina on August 29, 1947 the son of the late Leroy & Nellie (Randell) Bayne and has resided in the Burton area since 1979. He was joined in marriage to Yeneko Shinzato on June 30, 1971 and she preceded him in death on December 10, 2012. Answering the call of his country Michael proudly served in the US Army during the Vietnam War, and continued his military career for many years. He was a member of Burton VFW Post #2777 and served as the 2017-2018 Michigan Grand Commander M.O. C.

Surviving is son Gordon and wife Chrisandra Bayne, his loving grandchildren: Adrianna, Madison, Cierra, Samantha, Connor, Amelia, and great grandson Jason. Michael also leaves his sister Pam Hooker and a host of extended family and friends. He is preceded in death by son Luke, and sister Cheryl Tuttle.
