Max Gordon Hayes of Burton, age 73, died Wednesday August 7, 2013 at his residence. Honoring his wishes cremation has taken place. No public visitation or services are being held. A private family gathering for Max will be held at a later date. Those desiring may make contributions in his memory to the Disable American Veterans or the Veterans Organization of your choice. Max was born in Milan Tenn. on June 21, 1940 the son of the late; Erbie & Louella (Guest) Hayes and has resided in the Burton area the last thirty-two years. He was joined in marriage to Dianne Vandesteene- Goforth, on January 3, 1993 in Swartz Creek. Max was a life member of Morning Star Lodge 556 F&AM and a member of UAW Local 598. Max had been employed by General Motors Truck & Bus for thirty-two years retiring July 1, 1998.
