Mary Evelyn Shue of Genesee Township, age 71, died Monday April 13, 2020 at Hurley Medical Center. Honoring her wishes cremation has taken place. No public services are being held.

Mary was born in Flint, Michigan on October 14, 1948 the daughter of the late Marton & Martha (Freeman) Dunckel and has resided in the Genesee Township area since 1979. Mary was a very caring and compassionate person having spent over thirty-four years as a Hospice Care Provider. She worked in Saginaw, Lapeer, Shiawassee, Genesee, Tuscola, Oakland and Livingston Counties where she touched the hearts of patients of all ages and their families.  At Bay Valley (formerly known as Genesis, St. Joseph's Hospital) several of Mary's paintings were on display where patients and their families would purchase these and display them in their homes. If you purchased one of these paintings look in the lower left corners for the initials MS which means it could be one of her paintings.

We lost a special woman who was the life of the party and had a way of making everyone feel like they were the most important person in the room. The second you entered her home you were family and that is one of the qualities most loved about her.  She loved the sky, gardening, she loved nature, she loved to paint, she loved her family and she was amazing. Rest easy, we will meet again.

Surviving is husband Stacy Ryan, daughters: Angel Delight Dunckel and Misty Lane Cross. She also leaves grandchildren Jennifer Lynne Cory and Angel B.
