Mary Ruth Shaw died peacefully in her sleep April 6, 2011.

Visitation will be held Saturday, April 9, 2011 from 1:00 – 4:00 p.m. at Hansen Funeral Home in Davison, Michigan. Cremation and burial will take place at a later date.

Mary was born to Emmett Clyde Cannon and Elsie (Hammack) Cannon in Roxanna, Illinois on May 12, 1926. The family moved to Flat Rock, Michigan when Mary was six years old. She graduated from Flat Rock High School in 1944.

She married Harry H. Shaw on September 25, 1948 in Taylor, Michigan.

Mary devoted her life to her family and her faith. She was a member of the Church of Christ her entire adult life. After raising her four children, she volunteered countless hours singing at funerals, preparing food for funeral dinners, quilting to raise funds for Valley Christian Academy and driving elderly church members to doctor appointments and church services.

She was happiest when spending time with her family. She adored her husband, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She spent many happy hours quilting, reading and watching Tiger baseball.

Mary is survived by her husband, Harry H. Shaw; her four children; Marcia (Gary) Clark, Daniel (Sheree) Shaw, Pamela (Anthony) Klein and Daren Shaw; four grandchildren, Roxanne Shaw, Lorna Klein, Brie Clark and Ricky Shaw; three great-grandchildren, Haley and Jesse Gardner and Kyle Streeter.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and three sisters.
