Mary Jo Ries of Hemlock formerly of Davison age 65, died Wednesday January 6, 2021 at Covenant Health Center, Saginaw. Honoring her wishes cremation has taken place. No public services are being held. Those desiring may make contributions in her memory to the Humane Society.
Mary Joe was born in Topeka Kansas on November 22, 1955 the daughter of the late Warren & Velma (Hershberger) Bohnet and had resided in the Davison area for many years and relocating to the Hemlock area later in her life. She was a graduate of Davison High School Class of 1973. She loved hunting for treasures at yard sales and adding to her collection of Native American art and artifacts. Much of her favorite times were spent watching the sunset over Paradise Lake, camping at thee Wheatland Music Festival, and searching for Pudding Stones, or almost any type of rock.
She is survived by her son, Greg Ries, grandsons; Garrett Ries, and Graden Ries all of Davison; brother Stretch (Cheryl) Bohnet of Montana, sister, Chris (Ron) Robinette of Davison, nephews Tarn Bohnet, Tarl Bohnet, nieces Mandy Robinette, and Jenny Robinette. Aunt Irma (Don) Parks of Davison, father of her son and former husband Rod Ries, life partner Steven McKellar, and a host of extended family. Her adventurous spirit will be missed by all of her family and friends scatted across the United States.
