Mary Marguerite Mathews of Davison, age 84, died Tuesday August 9, 2022 at Hurley Medical Center. A funeral service will be held at 5:30 pm Saturday August 13, 2022 at Hansen Funeral Home Groves Chapel, Downtown Davison. Rev. Sarah LaRose-Nettell officiating: with private burial in Meadowview Cemetery.  Family will receive visitors from 3:00 pm Saturday until time of services.

Mary was born in Davison Michigan on April 3, 1938 the daughter of the late AJ and Mary (Howard) Coon and has resided in the Davison area her entire life. She was joined in marriage to Ronald Mathews and he preceded her in death on December 27, 1993. Mary was a graduate of Davison High School Class of 1957. Mary loved spending time with family especially her loving grandchildren. She also was an avid Bingo player. Mary had been employed by Denny's Market for over fifteen years.

She is survived by her sons: Daniel Mathews, and Richard Mathews. She also leaves her loving nine grandchildren, and six great grandchildren. Surviving also are siblings: Joy Stellard, Allen Coon, Ralph coon, Jan Coon Deaton, Lois Gates, Alden Coon, Nancy Krotsch, Kathy VanWagen, Kevin Coon, and numerous extended family and friends. She is preceded in death by daughter Rosemary Mathews, and brothers: Marvin Coon, Clyde Coon, Howard Coon, Paul Coon, Clifford Coon, and sisters: Doris Hartwell, Phylis Coon-Maas, and Linda Devine.
