Marlene Lynn (Simmonds) Bearup of Burton formerly of Millington age 56 passed away Monday January 24, 2011 at Genesys Regional Medical Center. A funeral service will be held 12:00noon Friday January 28, 2011 at the Richfield Church of The Nazarene 7524 E. Mt. Morris Rd. Otisville. Rev. S. Alan Duce officiating. Private burial at Cottage Cemetery. Family will receive visitors from 6-8pm Wednesday and 1-4 and 6-8pm Thursday at the funeral home. Marlene will lie in state at the church from 11:00am Friday until time of service. Those desiring may make contributions in Marlene's memory to the church. Marlene was born in Flint, Michigan July 21, 1954 the daughter of Kenneth and Gynith (Grimmett) Simmonds and spent her entire life in Millington-Burton area. She was joined in marriage to Edward Bearup January 6, 1990. She was a 1972 graduate of Millington High School. She was member of Richfield Church of The Nazarene, and was an avid cook and loved camping. Marlene was "Road Mom" for the Calvarymen for 10 years. She was employed by Creative Learning Center for over 25 years before retiring in 2010. She leaves to cherish her memory husband: Ed; children: Bob and Vicky Bearup, Matt and Carrie Bearup; 5 grandchildren: Tyler, Brittany, Christopher, Jacquelyn, and Terry; mother: Gynith Simmonds; sister: Karen Ward; brothers: Dale and Janet Simmonds, Jerry and Audrey Simmonds, and many other relatives.
