Marion Caryl of Davison, age 96, went to be with her Lord on September 15, 2018, at Nicole's Place in Lapeer. Her family will hold a private service. Marion was a loving mother and grandmother and will be missed by all. The last of her family's generation, she was born August 15, 1922, the daughter of Mason and Eldora (Lum) Hull of the Goodrich/Atlas area. She graduated from Goodrich High School in 1940 and married Basil Caryl in 1942. Marion helped start the Vocational Independence Program, formerly GCARC, in Flint. She would take her son, Danny, to school there every day in a minivan and stop to pick up other developmentally disabled children along the way. She was given a gift from God in order to play her organ, and other instruments, by ear. Marion is survived by her children, Dian Becker of Davison and Danny Caryl of Lapeer; grandchildren Julie (Steven) Becker-Thomas, Matthew (Keturah) Becker, Susan (Joseph) Becker-Trotter all of Davison; great-grandchildren Mallory, Leah, and Philip Stock, Madison, Kamryn, Samuel and Bo Becker, Scarlett, Lincoln, and Cash VerBurg all of Davison; sister-in-law Barbara Brown of Chesaning. She was preceded in death by her husband, Basil, her parents, sister Hazel and brother Jack, and son-in-law Philip Becker III. Marion enjoyed her family to the fullest and is now with her heavenly family waiting for the rest to arrive. Honoring Marion and her love for animals, those wishing to make a donation in her name can do so to the Humane Society of Genesee County, G-3325 S. Dort Hwy. Burton, Michigan 48529.
